Office Add-ins and Report Development

Microsoft Office is the industry-leading software for the preparation of most business documents and many businesses rely on Office for a large portion of correspondence, presentation and analysis of data.  In Word and Excel Microsoft has supported a macro programming language for adding specialized tools and functions to these programs.  More recently, with generalized support for Visual Basic in all of the Office products, Microsoft has included ways for developers to add features to tailor these products to very specific business situations.  If you have ever been in a situation where you said "Boy, I wish I could get Outlook to do this one little thing, it would save me lots of time," then you might wish to explore whether an Office Add-in can improve your business productivity.  Often a prospective client will have a business problem that can be solved by acquiring or developing an Office Add-in, a program that performs a specific feature within a particular program.  For example, TCA's first software product, EZ Form Letters, began as a Microsoft Word Add-in, developed for an early TCA client.

While Excel and Access make it easy to add records and information to files, they are not as useful for data extraction, analysis and reports.  Several members of the TCA staff are highly proficient with Business Objects' Crystal Reports, the industry-standard reporting tool.  If timely reports are critical to your business productivity, our report-writing wizards can save you time and money.

"TCA examined our business problem and proposed an extremely useful Microsoft Word add-in that allowed our sales team to prepare custom quotes with a simple procedure.   The finished software not only streamlined proposal development, it was deployed throughout the 300-person, 14-state sales organization and 175-company reseller channel within two weeks of initial deployment. Our entire force achieved dramatic productivity improvement in preparing custom quotes."
